BROWNSVILLE – A man is dead after leading police on a chase and ramming a vehicle at several police units.
Police opened fire shooting the suspect.
The shooting happened on Boca Chica Blvd near the intersection with Bernard Road around 2 a.m. Monday.
Police identify the suspect as 20-year-old Mark Anthony Galvan.
According to Brownsville police, officers tried to stop a vehicle but the driver sped off leading police on a high speed chase.
Police say officers opened fired when the suspect rammed his vehicle into several police units.
Galvan was taken to the hospital where he later died.
