SPI Police Participates in Texas Warrant Roundup
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – Police in South Padre Island will be joining more than 300 law enforcement agencies for the Texas Warrant Roundup initiative.
This is a statewide effort to collect debt owed on outstanding warrants.
“We encourage citizens with citations to pay now without further penalties,” said Randy Smith, chief of police. “During the roundup, you can be arrested at any time or any place, which could result in additional fees.”
Officials are urging anyone with an outstanding citation to take care of it to avoid arrest.
The roundup efforts will begin Saturday, Feb. 24.
If anyone is experiencing hardship and unable to pay, contact the South Padre Island Municipal Court to discuss options that may be available. You can reach them at 956-761-3225.
Payments can also be made online at any time on the city’s website.
