BROWNSVILLE – This is the time of year when high school students start planning for their prom. But CHANNEL 5 NEWS was invited to a very special prom.

It was a prom specifically for people with special needs and it was their night.

‘Night to Shine’ is a prom hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation, Holy Family Church of Brownsville and an organization called Down by the Border.

Each guest, ages 14 and older, was teamed up with a volunteer. It was all about letting them have a fun-filled night.

“I think more communities need to step up and do this for their individuals. We are hosting Willacy County, McAllen, Edinburg, Brownsville, Los Fresnos,” Dolores Zarate with Down by the Border said.

Watch the video to see how the attendees enjoyed their Night to Shine.
