MCALLEN – A local mother says her twin daughters' quinceañera party is one week away and the dresses she ordered from a McAllen shop will not be ready on time.
The family says the dress shop refuses to grant a refund.
Claudia Iracheta and her older daughter Estefany Giles say they spent more than $1,600 for the dresses.
They say the order was placed in February, but months later the dresses are nowhere to be found.
"For the moms, I hope they never go through what I’m going through because it feels really ugly that the event is already planned, and my daughters have cried,” says Iracheta.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to the manager, Renato Parra, at Lucy Franco in McAllen to see if the family would get their money back.
Parra says he will grant them a refund only if the family takes him to court.
The family has filed a police report with the McAllen Police Department; Iracheta says she doesn’t have money for a legal battle.
