SAN JUAN - Volunteers put together baskets Tuesday to hand out to those in need this Thanksgiving.

Our Sharing Basket event is well underway and will be continuing until 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to make sure families in need have a meal this Thanksgiving.

Sister Norma Pimentel has been a part of this Sharing Basket for many years; she says the Valley’s kind hearts never disappoint.

"We're able to come together as a community to really feed so many families throughout the whole Valley and so the response is wonderful and to have so many kids helping us out it's just amazing...," says Sister Norma.

For nearly 40 years the event has been growing in size; last year over 5,000 families were helped.

The Sharing Basket event is Tuesday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the San Juan Basilica Auditorium on 400 Nebraska Avenue.
