Scrubbed SpaceX launch leaves dozens of out-of-state visitors waiting out delay
A large crowd showed up at south Padre Island in the hopes of seeing the SpaceX Starship launch from Boca Chica.
Some were from the Rio Grande Valley, others as far away as Arizona, Illinois and California.
Those out-of-towners are still sticking around, though, hoping for a second launch attempt.
"This is the one we've been waiting for, the big one," Brownsville resident Meme Wagner said.
Locals were among the large crowds showing up to get a front row seat of the launch early Monday morning.
Chris Gruttke who travelled all the way from Arizona.
"I'll be out here for the week, but I came out to hopefully watch the launch today," Gruttke said.
Spaceflight enthusiasts all have plans to return to witness the launch of the most powerful rocket ever made.
The second attempt of the launch is expected on Thursday, April 20.
