San Juan Man Possibly Connected to Kiki Camarena’s Death Arrested
SAN JUAN – A drug trafficker who is allegedly connected to the death of Drug Enforcement Administration agent Enrique ‘Kiki’ Camarena was arrested for violating his probation.
Enrique Godinez Cervantes of San Juan was arrested Friday – he was part of the Guadalajara Cartel. He was never charged for Kiki’s death. He was convicted on drug trafficking charges in the 1990’s.
KRGV’s Christian Colón sat down with the former DEA agent who worked with Camarena – he was also kidnapped while investigating the case in Mexico.
Former DEA agent Victor Cortez says Godinez was on the suspect list for Kiki’s abduction, but at the time the DEA decided to target other leaders of the cartel.
Cortez reflects back on the time he was beaten and water boarded.
