San Benito police Lt. Milton Resendez laid to rest
A last call was held Thursday for a man who served his community for over 30 years.
“The last call was the hardest,” San Benito Mayor Ricardo Guerra said. “Not being able to hear, see him and at least have a conversation with him."

“That moment was a heartache for me,” Resendez’s cousin — Raul Rodriguez — said. “I think he'll be remembered as a hero in this community."
Tears were seen falling down the faces of loved ones, friends and colleagues who were there to say their final goodbyes before Resendez was taken to his final resting place at the San Benito Memorial Cemetery.
Lt. Resendez served with the San Benito Police Department for almost 26 years.
He leaves behind his wife of 25 years.
