MCALLEN – A series of road closures have been scheduled in McAllen due to the Main and Harvey Drainage Improvement Project.

The closures are expected to begin Wednesday January 15, and end Friday, March 13.

The closures will include:

•         Main Street from Daffodil Avenue to Whitewing Avenue, north and south bound
•          Harvey Avenue from 12^th Street to 16^th Street, east and west bound, including the intersection of Main and Harvey

According to the release, during this time a new storm sewer infrastructure will be installed as part of the 2018 Drainage Bond Projects, which should help alleviate flooding in the area during heavy rain.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
