RIO GRANDE CITY – For the second time, the cadets of the Rio Grande City High School JROTC program will get to wear their gold star.

The gold star is a small insignia on their uniform meaning their unit is one of the best in the region or in the state.

They just went through inspection for reaccreditation, having U.S. Army officials looking at all aspects of their training.

The unit also prepares documents to show inspectors what they have accomplished throughout the year.
