Police: Man in custody after 2 fatally shot in East Texas
TYLER, Texas (AP) - Police in East Texas say a 52-year-old man is in custody following an early-morning shooting that left two dead.
Tyler police spokeswoman Jenny Wells says Harvey Louis Martin is charged with capital murder following the shooting Thursday at a home. Martin's bond is set at $1 million.
Wells says officers responded about 2 a.m. to a shooting call and found the bodies of 25-year-old Krista Newman and 26-year-old Caleb McGrady outside the home.
She says both died at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Wells declined to explain the victims' relationship to one another or how they may have known the suspect.
It's not clear if Martin has an attorney to speak on his behalf and a message left on a phone number associated with him was not immediately returned.
Tyler is about 85 miles (137 kilometers) southeast of Dallas.
