WESLACO--CHANNEL 5 Photojournalist Elette Garza shows us a behind the scenes look at live shots with First Warn 5 Chief Meteorologist Tim Smith.

"These live shots may look easy which makes that the magic of television. A lot of different elements are put in place behind the scenes in order to make these live shots look smooth and easy," says Garza. 

The photographer has to make sure the microphone is in working condition and that the lighting looks good on camera. She also has to assure that Tim Smith can hear the producer through an IFB line. This is how the talent is able to know when they are coming up live. 

Elette highlights the team effort involved. From the studio to sub control room, she shows us who and what is involved in preparing live shots before the newscast.
