PHARR – It’s meant to capture, if not all, of what police officers encounter on-call.
For the Pharr Police Department, body cameras have been standard equipment for a few years. In every encounter with a person, the camera should be on.
The department recently upgraded their body camera system.
Now, when an officer starts recording, back at headquarters, supervisors will be able to live stream what field officers see.
The upgrade also includes a website where the public can participate directly in an investigation.
Police will send a link when they are in need of help and any information the public may have can be sent directly to the department and serve as evidence.
Watch the video above for the further details.
