Over $1M in Narcotics Seized at Progreso Port of Entry
PROGRESO – About 165 pounds of alleged cocaine were seized at the Progreso/Donna Port of Entry on Wednesday.
According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection press release sent out Thursday, a tractor-trailer carrying an empty flatbed trailer was sent to a secondary station for further inspection.
It states officers then discovered 60 packages of cocaine concealed within the cab of the trailer.
The narcotics have an estimated street value of over $1.2 million.
The driver, a 23-year-old Mexican citizen, was taken into custody.
