North Alamo Water Supply Corporation customers facing rate increase
Customers with the North Alamo Water Supply Corporation will see a rate increase next month.
Steven Sanchez, the general manager for the water utility district, said this is the water provider's first price hike in six years.
Sanchez said they’re charging more to keep up with the price of the chemicals they use to treat the water.
“We do consider the communities out there, it’s a hard time — especially during inflation. So we are trying to keep the rates down as low as possible,” Sanchez said. “The rate increase is only 35 cents per 1,000 gallons on all the people start using in September forward.”
