Murder Suspects Waived Extradition, Sent Back to Maryland

UPDATE (3/21): A father and daughter accused of killing a woman are back in Maryland. 

Keith and Valeria Smith were extradited back Thursday morning. 
Both are charged with killing Jacquelyn Smith. 
A judge has since ordered that they be held in jail without bail.

NEAR BROWNSVILLE – Two murder suspects from Maryland, a father and daughter, are jailed in Cameron County due to a case involving the death of the man’s wife.  

Both were waived extradition on Monday and will be sent back to Maryland within 10 days.

The suspects originally told investigators a pan-handler attacked and killed the victim.

Department of Public Safety troopers arrested both on Sunday as they were heading to Mexico.  

Both face first-degree murder charges.
