DONNA – Law enforcement responded to an incident in Donna where witnesses reported shots were fired.

Authorities said a car chase, involving a grey Honda Civic, came to an end on South Avenue. They said they found 10 sacks with bundles of marijuana inside the vehicle.

DPS attempted to pull the vehicle over but it soon turned into a chase. They called in for assistance and the Texas Highway Patrol responded.

DPS said they deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful.

The car finally came to a stop in the front yard of a residence.

The suspects, the driver and passenger, were taken into custody.
