Molina Healthcare of Texas Takes Nursing Home Residents On A Bird Watching Event
Mcallen - Molina Healthcare of Texas, is sending 25 nursing home residents to Quinta Mazatlan to go on a nature adventure, tour the historic mansion indoors and outdoors and enjoy arts and crafts. Residents will be accompanied by Apostolado de la Cruz Catholic Sisters.
According to a study from 2010, time spent outdoors makes people feel “more alive.” Bonding with Mother Nature can lead to an increased sense of vitality and energy, which in turn can help boost resiliency to physical illness. NurseCore reports that walking outside can strengthen muscles, increase join flexibility and improve self-esteem, among other things.
The event is closed to the public, but media is welcome to attend.
