Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a Mission family's garage on Saturday. 

Officials said crews responded to a home on Gastel Circle off of Bryan Road between FM 495 and Bus. 83 after a neighbor called for help after noticing smoke.

Mission Fire Chief Gilbert Sanchez said nobody was inside the home at the time of the fire. 

According to Sanchez, the family's home was not damaged as the garage was not attached to the house, although a neighboring structure did sustain minor damage.  

The fire remains under investigation.
