WESLACO – Mexico’s president is speaking out about the incident involving a group of migrants who were supposedly forced off of a bus in Mexico.
The state department said there weren’t any Americans among those taken off the bus, which was heading to Reynosa in Tamaulipas.
The president confirmed they were migrants but he hesitated to say the bus was taken over and didn’t call it a kidnapping.
He says an investigation is now open to find out exactly what happened.
Although there aren’t many details confirming what happened or why they were targeted, there is a pattern of danger established in this border state.
A travel warning remains in effect for Americans traveling to certain parts of Mexico.
KRGV’s Valerie Gonzalez has the details.
