MERCEDES – A Mercedes family, dependent on their semi-tractor for income, says what should have been a quick repair is now costing them thousands and potentially their job.

The Moya family says their truck has been out of commission for three weeks, costing them close to $10,000.

Leticia Moya says the repair should’ve taken at the most two days to fix.

"This isn't a mom and pop shop; this is a dealership. We expected better than them. We didn't expect to be treated this way," says Moya.

CHANNEL 5 NEWS reached out to Valley Truck Center; they declined to comment.

Moya says she was told by the shop manager that their truck would be done by Tuesday.

The Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection says of the problem isn’t resolved, the family should file a complaint with their office.

They also advise on getting a finish date for the required work in writing.
