MCALLEN – A website posing as the city of McAllen is selling garage sale permits that are required by a city ordinance.

It offers unlimited permits and for $10 less than the real city website.

McAllen’s public information officer, Xochitl Mora, explains residents are only allowed to have three garage sales in a calendar year.
