The city of McAllen is set to honor the 82nd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The naval base in Honolulu, HI was attacked by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service at 7:48 a.m. on Sunday, December 7, 1941, during WWII.
The United States was a neutral country at the time; the attack led to its formal entry into World War II the next day, according to a news release.
The city of McAllen will hold a ceremony at the Texas Veterans War Memorial, located at 3129 Galveston Ave., on Thursday at 10 a.m. in honor of the anniversary.
