McAllen ISD selects new acting superintendent
Facing an outgoing superintendent, the McAllen ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to appoint a longtime educator as its acting superintendent, according to a news release.
Rosalba De Hoyos has served as a teacher, principal and dean of instruction during her 29 years in education, according to a news release from the district. She previously served as the district’s assistant superintendent for instructional services
Outgoing district superintendent J.A. Gonzalez made the recommendation.
"She has done a phenomenal job," Gonzalez said. "She's a tremendous educator. I have all the confidence in the world of her."
Gonzalez was previously named the lone finalist for the superintendent position at Harlingen CISD. Gonzalez stated he plans to accept the job offer once it’s offered to him next month.
