MCALLEN – A McAllen repair shop owner says he’ll continue to do what he loves for years to come. 

Noel Escobar, whose expertise extends over six decades, works on anything made of leather, including fancy boots, saddles and even luggage.

“I worked for the Womeldorf’s [Sporting Goods] for about 13 years and later they sold me the shoe shop, and I started on my own in 1967,” he says.

The business is located on North 23rd Street.
