COMBES - A father and daughter from Baltimore are behind bars in Cameron County.
They're accused of 1st degree murder.
The case started December 1, 2018, Baltimore police say Keith Smith called 911 about a stabbing involving his wife Jacquelyn Smith.
52-year-old Smith told police, Jacquelyn was giving money to a pan-handler when she was stabbed.
Police now say that isn't true.
Baltimore police started surveillance on Smith, and noticed he was leaving Maryland and set out an alert.
Lieutenant Johnny Hernandez with Texas DPS tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS a trooper assigned to Valley spotted a car matching the Baltimore alert, and stopped the vehicle.
Smith and his daughter 28-year-old Valeria Smith were arrested Sunday morning in Combes.
