MCALLEN – A group of veterans from an American Legion felt they had a responsibility to preserve one of the Rio Grande Valley’s own historical artifacts from World War I.
It’s a relic of a gun believed to have possibly been used by Pancho Villa himself.
After two years of collecting money and fundraising, the American Legion Post 37 in McAllen were able to pay a total of $16,000 to restore the artifact.
