EDINBURG – A man set to spend the rest of his life in prison after being found guilty of murder.

A Hidalgo County jury sentenced Victor Manuel Florido to life Wednesday morning.

Jurors convicted Florido in the beating death of Eleazar Vega Vela in Feb. 2016.

He will serve out the sentence in a state prison.

The defense said they will appeal the verdict.
