The Los Fresnos Fire Department is marking its 75th anniversary as a volunteer force this Saturday with a few planned events.

"Just to look at where we came from, where we are, and where we're going. We want to celebrate the past, the present, and the future," Fire Chief Gene Daniels said.

The department will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to noon and allow the public to explore the station and meet the firefighters. They will also have some gifts for the kids.

There will also be an evening banquet to honor past and present firefighters.
