A Brownsville family was left without a home Tuesday after a fire destroyed it.
No injuries were reported in the fire that broke out Tuesday at around 1 p.m. on the corner of West 5th Street and West St. Francis Street.
Brownsville fire Chief Jarrett Sheldon said by the time firefighters arrived to the scene, half the home was already engulfed in flames.
“Right now we're going to work with the families to ensure they have a place to go, ensure that we help them get back to some sense of normalcy,” Sheldon said.
Firefighters also helped rescue pets that were inside the home.
