NEAR ALTON – The Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal hit-and-run in Hidalgo County.
It happen south of Alton around 6:38 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim was identified as 46-year-old Ronald Barker of Mission. DPS says he was walking along La Homa Road, south of Mile 9, when he was hit by a vehicle.
No information is known about the type of vehicle that hit Barker. DPS says they do expect the vehicle to have front end damage.
