Hidalgo Co. Authorities Start Manhunt for Aggravated Robbery Suspect
NEAR EDINBURG - Hidalgo County investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify an aggravated robbery suspect who shot one of his victims.
The robbery happened Sunday afternoon at the 7900 block of Hallam Ave. near Edinburg.
Authorities said an armed man went onto the property and demanded money and keys to a vehicle in the driveway.
A neighbor said the gunman could’ve shot her husband but her neighbor, the 41-year-old victim, intervened.
“He wanted to shoot my husband in the head, but my neighbor distracted hum by trying to give him the key of his car,” she said. “He turned towards my neighbor and shot him.”
The suspect fled the scene in getaway vehicle. The vehicle is described as a grey colored 90s Ford Taurus.
Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. He’s currently recovering from the gunshot.
Authorities describe the suspect as a clean shaven man with a light complexion. He is at least five feet, seven inches tall.
