BROWNSVILLE – Local leaders and health care professionals gathered for the groundbreaking of the new emergency room facility in Brownsville.

Exceptional Health Care, Inc. is constructing an 18,000-square foot state-of-the-art emergency room facility. It’s one of five being built across the Rio Grande Valley.

The phenomenal growth of the Rio Grande Valley has been hard to keep up with, but Exceptional E.R. and its parent company Exceptional Health Care, Inc. are keeping pace with the construction of five new state-of-the-art emergency room facilities planned to open throughout the Rio Grande Valley in 2017-2018. With the Exceptional E.R. at Stuart Place Road in Harlingen scheduled to open in September 2017, construction on the new Exceptional E.R. in Brownsville will begin immediately with scheduled completion in March 2018. It will be located in North Brownsville at 449 East Alton Gloor Boulevard. Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new 18,000 square foot Brownsville facility are planned for June 28, 2017 commencing at 11 a.m. Exceptional E.R. believes that the new facility will create somewhere in the region of 40-50 new jobs in the Brownsville area

“We are very excited to be part of the Brownsville community and look forward to providing affordable first-class emergency room treatment to all the various groups in the Rio Grande Valley that have traditionally been under served”, says Jeff Love, CEO of Exceptional Health Care, Inc. “We are striving to bring back the small-town feel, a personal care service, but with all the modern medical advancements,” he added.

All Exceptional E.R. locations will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will be exclusively staffed with board-certified emergency physicians and emergency-trained registered nurses to treat adult and pediatric emergencies. Each location will feature private treatment rooms equipped with HF televisions, modern décor, a comfortable waiting area, and dedicated pediatric treatment rooms.

In addition to injury care, cardiology, and emergency care for adults and children, Exceptional E.R. will offer complete lab and radiology services including C.T. Scans, ultrasounds, and x-rays. We will also offer acute care observation rooms and an on-site pharmacy.

“The groundbreaking ceremony for our new Exceptional E.R. in Brownsville is only the beginning of our long-term commitment to provide families in the area with the highest level of affordable emergency care when they need it most,” says Kazim Hussain, M.D., Chief of Emergency Medicine at Valley Baptist Medical Center and Chief Operating Officer of Exceptional Health Care of the new Brownsville facility.
