Gov. Abbott hosts small business summit in McAllen
Gov. Greg Abbott visited the Valley Thursday to talk about business development as part of the Governor’s Small Business Summit.
The event focused on connecting business owners with resources to keep growing.
During a presentation, Abbott discussed the recently signed property tax cuts that will impact homeowners and business owners.
The governor also talked about Tesla, one of the state's largest new business up in the Austin area.
“One of the reasons why we were able to get Elon Musk to come to the state of Texas and spend in the state of Texas is because I sat down with him and showed him how we could accelerate the regulatory process, and he would be able to achieve what he wanted to achieve,” Abbott said.
The governor's office is planning more small business summits across the state this fall, including stops in Fredericksburg, Beaumont and San Antonio.
