MCALLEN – Department of Public Safety Trooper Moises Sanchez, 49, passed away August 24 after a shooting back in April that left him hospitalized.
Sanchez served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1989 to 1991.
He was a Texas State Trooper for four years.
A public visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 5 at Legacy Chapels located at 4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. It begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6 at 1 p.m. at Bert Ogden Arena located at 4900 S. Interstate 69C in Edinburg.
Burial will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. The interment will only be for Sanchez's family.
Trooper Sanchez will be buried with full military honors.
