Friends of PSJA Alum Killed in El Paso Shooting Speak Out
WESLACO - Humble, happy, and hardworking, that's how a PSJA High School alum is being remembered.
Leo Campos was among the 22 people who died in the attack in El Paso.
The El Paso shooting happened more than 10 hours from the Rio Grande valley, but the impact and the loss is on the minds and in the hearts of many here.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS spoke to Little League coach Pepe Forina.
He says he remembers a boy who turned into a man with love in his heart.
"I remember him always laughing, a very fun loving boy, when it came time to get serious he was serious and when he played he left it all out on the field," says Forina.
Leonel Alvarado says he was a great teammate, but an even better man.
Alvarado says by all accounts, Leo Campos was a selfless man who wanted others to feel wanted and welcome.
