EDINBURG – A former probations officer under investigation by the Hidalgo County Adult Probation Office was arrested.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday 34-year-old Carlos Daniel De La Fuente is charged with three counts of bribery.
He’s accused of receiving monetary compensation in exchange for reducing fines and sentence time. The incidents allegedly took place with three different probationers.
De La Fuente is already facing one charge for abuse of official capacity.
The investigation is ongoing.
