UPDATE (8/7): The FEMA assessments at the Mercedes ISD revealed minimal damage to most of the 25 buildings. Only two are looking at major repairs.
John F. Kennedy was assessed last week. The building sustained little damage.
Travis Elementary and Taylor Elementary were the schools with the most damage.

MERCEDES – Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will be assessing flood damage at a Mercedes school.
The Mercedes Emergency Management Coordinator says the John F. Kennedy Elementary School was heavily damaged during the June floods.
The data gathered will give the district information they need in order to potentially cover the cost of repairs.
