MERCEDES – In Mercedes, an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for the city’s new FedEx Freight service center.

The 84,000 square foot facility opened for business recently and employs about 150 people.

John Smith, the president and CEO of FedEx Fright, says it was planned to fit the needs of shipments from McAllen to Brownsville.
