WESLACO – An insulin pump is under recall by the Food and Drug Administration. One patient has died and more than 2,000 have been injured by the devices, according to the agency.
The recall applies to certain Medtronic MiniMed 600 series pumps. Faulty pumps are reportedly delivering incorrect insulin doses. The issue can lead to serious medical complications.
Patients with the devices are encouraged to call Medtronic or talk to their doctor or pharmacist.
