Family Speaks Out about New Year's Eve Deadly Accident

UPDATE (1/14): A man is facing charges in a fatal crash that took place in Houston and claimed the life of a McAllen woman on New Year's Eve. 

Christopher Lopez, 48, faces three felony charged in connection with the death of Sylvia Zavala. 
Police say Lopez was chasing a teen driver when he crashed into Zavala's vehicle. 
The 14-year-old in the other vehicle faces a murder charge.

MCALLEN – A Rio Grande Valley woman was laid to rest on Friday following a deadly crash that took place in Houston.

Sylvia Zavala died in a crash while on a visit to see family in Houston for the holiday.

A Harris County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson says a 14-year-old was driving along with a 15-year-old to prank people.

An angry driver began chasing the teens who then drove through a red light and struck Zavala’s vehicle.

KRGV’s Trason Bragg spoke with her family. They say they want justice.
