Edcouch-Elsa Art Students Working to Recreate Historical Art
EDCOUCH–ELSA – Some students at Edcouch-Elsa High School admitted they never gave a lot of thought to art. But after signing up for an art class, their way of thinking changed.
Art teacher Brett Oberthaler assigned his students to recreate historical art pieces. The hallway at the school turned into their art studio. He said his thinking was to let the students work while learning different textures, lines, compositions and color mixtures.
The students said they enjoy learning about the different art pieces.
“Sometimes they come in moody, but yet by the end of the period they're usually in a good mood. So, something's going on that's good,” said Oberthaler.
