DHS Secretary Speaks with Local Law Enforcement on Border Security, Need for Change
MCALLEN – The Secretary of Homeland Security met with local law enforcement to discuss immigration and border security.
Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen met with local sheriffs and immediately demanded change from Congress.
"This is not a manufactured crisis. This is truly an emergency, our system is breaking. The flow is different, the flow is increasing. It’s not just a security crisis, it's a humanitarian crisis,” she explains.
The Border Patrol Sector Chief Rodolfo Karisch says agents are being redirected, which causes them to use up their security resources.
Hundreds of families are coming into the Valley.
