DHR Health teamed up with the healthcare company Vitalant for a Tuesday blood drive.

The community blood drive event helps ensure an adequate and stable blood supply for regional hospitals — including DHR Health — and other medical facilities, according to a news release.

Those who donated blood at the Tuesday event were given a free DHR Health lunch tote.

Vitalant will host other community blood drives. 

The next blood drive is set for Wednesday, Jan. 24 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Sunshine RV Park, located at 1900 Grace Ave. in Harlingen.

Vitalant will host another blood drive that same day in McAllen at the Junior League of McAllen — located at 514 E. Dove. Ave. — from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Those hoping to donate are asked to bring a valid photo ID.
