Cuban Man Faces Federal Charges after Jumping Border Bridge Barrier
HIDALGO – A Cuban man is facing federal charges for trying to run into the U.S. at a Rio Grande Valley bridge.
It happened at the Hidalgo port of entry Monday.
According to a court document, the man jumped over a barrier and ran from the Mexican side to the U.S. side.
Three Customs and Border Protection officers were able to catch up to him.
He was taken into custody after the struggle.
He’s charged with assaulting federal officers.
