Criminal complaint reveals Alamo murder victim previously stated she was afraid of her accused killer
A 38-year-old woman who was found dead in an Alamo mobile home previously told her mother that she was afraid of the man who police accuse of killing her, according to a criminal complaint.
Brittany Kay Ireland was found dead with lacerations to her neck in a mobile home at the Acacia RV & MH Park — located at 89 East Bus. 83 in Alamo — on Monday, Oct. 30.
The Alamo Police Department officially charged the man they say was living with her — 41-year-old Christopher Lee Soto — with murder in connection with her death.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by Channel 5 News, police responded to a mobile home in reference to a “deceased male subject” who was later identified as Soto. Soto was found unresponsive and had blood all over his clothing, but still showed vital signs, the complaint added.
Police later found Ireland lifeless in a bedroom in the same mobile home, with a “large open wound” in her neck.
Officers observed blood all over the living room floor, and what appeared to be a wooden frame from a broken chair. A bloody knife was found behind the washing machine near the restroom, the complaint stated.
Police contact Ireland’s mother — Sheila Ireland — who said she facetimed her daughter on Oct. 28.
“Sheila Ireland stated that Brittany had stated that she feared [Soto],” the complaint said, adding that Sheila also heard her daughter tell Soto to “stop that and it was all in his head.”
According to the complaint, Sheila Ireland also told police her daughter had talked about “Satan,” and that she saw him “run outside of their residence.”
Soto has been hospitalized since the incident.
According to Alamo police Chief Richard Ozuna, Soto was arraigned on the murder charge last week, and will be taken into custody once he’s released from the hospital.
