So far, 52 lawmakers are backing a bill to rename the McAllen Post Office after a Border Patrol agent who died last month.
Raul Gonzalez was killed in an ATV crash while tracking a group of migrants near the city of Mission.

Newly elected Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz said she is teaming up with the Rio Grande Valley's other Congressional representatives to get the post office in McAllen renamed after Gonzalez.
"It literally takes an act of congress to rename a federal building," De La Cruz said. "So we have bipartisan legislation that has been signed by both Republicans and Democrats in support of this change."
