LYFORD – The title of "Our Lady of Fatima" was given to the Virgin Mary when, Catholics say, she appeared to three children of sheepherders 102 years ago.
Now, statues of her likeness are touring the world and one of her stops was in Lyford. People come to gather at the home of Mike and Margaret Fonseca.
"To me, this is an honor of having her here, with me, my family and friends and I get very emotional," says Margaret.
She's not sure how her home was chosen. The statue is brought in by a designated representative.
Each person is asked to write down their petitions to the virgin.
