SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – South Padre Island is the place to go to fly a kite over the weekend for Kite Fest.

Bill Doan, owner of B&S Kites, is the man responsible for putting on the Kite Fest every year.

He tells us kites have changed throughout the years – now they can do tricks without needing a strong gust of wind.

Kite Fest will all start with the indoor flights on Thursday evening.

The outdoor flights on Friday and Saturday will be free.
