SAN ISIDRO – A church in San Isidro, built around 1920, is now collapsing.

The Guadalupe- El Toreo Church is on Highway 1017, where houses are miles apart. The church’s roof has collapsed and the underbrush is taking over.

Nine years ago, CHANNEL 5 NEWS visited the church with Father Rene Angel and two parishioners from the nearby San Isidro Catholic Church.

They were part of a committee hoping to restore the church, but the roof was already beginning to give way.

The Guadalupe-El Torero Church, is now mostly abandoned but at one time it proudly served.
